If you are receiving benefits (e.g. Income Support, income-based Jobseeker's Allowance, Disability Living Allowance or Attendance Allowance etc) and your circumstances (or those of your dependants) change, you must tell the agencies you receive benefits from (e.g. Jobcentre Plus or Benefit Service from your local council) so they can check if you are still entitled. It is a criminal offence to deliberately claim benefits to which you are not entitled, either by giving false information or not declaring a change of circumstances. This can lead to prosecution. |
