This is the highest level of education and qualifications vary from certificates through first degrees to post graduate degrees and doctorates achieved by a very high standard of research in any academic field. Learndirect is a national service that offers courses in a variety of subjects (including English as a second language, numeracy and computing skills) at a variety of levels. The courses can be completed online or through one of the many Learndirect Centres across the country. There is a course fee but discounts are available for people on a low income. Discounts vary according to the place of learning. Further information is also available from your local library. |

The Open University is one of the main providers of academic, vocational and practical distance learning courses. They are experienced in offering advice and support during study, including finances, family, stress, illness and time management. |
